Wine & Design with JavaScript

Are you ready to draw some happy little trees? In this workshop, we’ll build a paint app with JavaScript… and a little wine for inspiration.

Even experts will likely learn something fun from this beginner-friendly tutorial. We’ll start by building a basic ‘pen’ tool and move at our own pace through techniques like markers, spraypaint, area fills, and even special effects like dripping paint. As we implement them, we’ll discuss higher-level themes like design patterns, ES6 syntax, testability, decoupling, and indirection.

You’ll leave the workshop with your own custom paint program, some new tools in your developer toolbelt, and perhaps a taste for pinot noir.
