In this talk, you will navigate through the core concepts and techniques involved in creating a robust real-time analytics engine. You’ll gain valuable insights into data ingestion, processing, real-time output, technology choices, scalability, as well as potential pitfalls. You’ll observe these principles in action during a live coding demo, where you’ll get to see (and participate in) the step-by-step construction of an analytics engine. Did I mention that you’ll be participating? In this session, you’ll be playing a massively multiplayer online game to provide us with real-time data for our demo engine. By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with the confidence and knowledge to construct your own real-time analytics system.
