Mr. Kumar has more than 21 years of Information Technology (IT) experience, including 11 years applying Agile development principles and implementing DevOps practices on major federal government software development projects, and 10 years of managing multimillion-dollar software projects and programs. He has led mission-critical, strategic projects in the telecommunications, financial services, and IT consulting industries, including planning complex custom software solutions that align business goals with technology solutions to drive process improvements, competitive advantage, and bottom-line gains. He has had DevOps-related articles published in DZone and was invited to speak and give a demo on DevOps at an IC Agile course. He also co-presented with IRS Leadership at the 2017 Inter Agency Software Development Life Cycle Seminar on DevOps Journey @ IRS. He is part of the ATARC DevOps working group and appeared on the Visionary Panel discussion on “Barrier to Cloud Adoption” with leads from various federal agencies. He also presented at the DevOps World Conference on November 12, 2020, on “Scaling DevOps.” Mr. Kumar developed a ‘CICD Template Framework’ for providing a quick and effective way of empowering the IRS projects to self-onboard onto the CICD pipeline in a matter of hours, as opposed to months. This framework recently won the “DevOps World 2020 – Innovation award, selected as one of five examples worldwide. Additionally, Mr. Kumar’s ‘CICD Template Framework’ has been submitted to the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) and is currently Patent pending with U.S. Provisional Application No.: 63/067,586. Mr. Kumar was also awarded U.S. Patent 9,202,196 on rules-based asset tracking of products based on intelligence identifiers using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology (2015). Mr. Kumar has an MBA in International Business from the University of Maryland University College (2013), an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University (1999), and a BS in Civil Engineering from Osmania University (1997).
