Stateful Simulation of IoT Devices with IoTIFY

By Robin Biju Thomas

Elevator Pitch

Will your IoT Solution Scale? Find out with IoTIFY. We give you the capability to model the behaviour of your devices in a stateful manner and have them talk to your server. With IoTIFY, you can benchmark your server against loads of 1 Million Scale.

Description

One of the major challenges of testing an IoT Solution is the necessity of hardware. Professionals often use Hardware boards flashed with testing firmware or use Scripts to mock REST API calls to benchmark their server. In either of these cases, the testing scale is limited to the scale of tens, if not hundreds.

IoTIFY gives you the ability to model the behaviour of your devices in a stateful manner. This can include a simple use-case like a temperature sensor sending values periodically over MQTT or REST, or rather complex applications like a Gateway or a Hub that manages several devices over Z-Wave or BLE and sends the same to your server.

This talk will walk you through how you can get started with the IoTIFY platform and test your IoT solution at the scale of MILLIONS!

Notes

Relevance to the Event : We use an entirely distributed Microservice architecture backed by Docker and K8s. The virtual devices are simulated within scalable Docker containers.

I have worked on Architecting many IoT Test solutions with the IoTIFY platform and I also have a background of teaching JS.
