try! Swift Tokyo 2024 - Call for Proposals

2024年3月22日~24日に開催される try! Swift Tokyoのトークの応募フォームです。 下記の要項をよくお読みになって、ご応募ください。

応募期限

2024/1/4(水) 深夜まで

応募資格

• try! Swift Tokyo 2024の参加者（チケットを持っており、当日会場に来られること）

※ 応募時点では必ずしも持っている必要はありませんが、採択時にこちらからチケット保有の確認のご連絡をいたします。

形式

プロポーザルには２種類の形式があります。

General Talk

20分間のプレゼンテーション

SwiftおよびSwiftを使ったプロダクトに関係するトピックであれば、なんでも構いません。 Swiftの言語仕様や将来のリリースに関する話、Swiftの開発に関わっている方の話、Swiftを使ってiOS/macOSアプリを開発する際に気づいたこと、OSSを開発する際に直面した技術的な課題、その他Swiftに関する話題であれば、どんな内容でも構いません。

招待スピーカーのトークテーマを優先することがありますので、応募の際は想像しながらご応募いただくと採択されやすいかもしれません。

Lightning Talk

5分間のショートプレゼンテーション

あなたが夢中になっていることや、一生懸命取り組んでいることについて話してください。 Swiftやアプリ開発のことはもちろん、Swiftと関係なく趣味として熱中していることでも構いません。 会場で聞いているみなさんが前提知識がなくても楽しんで聴くことができる内容になっているとさらに良いです。

5分間という短い時間で話切れそうな内容であることを重視します。

言語

• 英語 or 日本語
• 英語圏からの参加者が多数来訪されることが予想されるので、英語での発表を推奨しています
  • 日本語・英語の同時通訳があります。
  • 2019年開催時、英語圏からの参加者は約200人の参加実績があります

選考とタイムライン

try! Swift Tokyo 2024の主催者による選考をおこないます。選考の際には、規定の時間で話すことができそうかも考慮します。

• 12/18 トーク募集開始
• 1/4 トーク募集締め切り
• 1/22 - 23 トーク採択者への通知
• 2/1 タイムテーブル公開

採択数

• Talk: 若干名（あまり多くありません）
• Lightning Talk: 5-10名程度

その他

• 一人で複数のCfPを応募することも可能です。ぜひ奮ってご応募ください。
• Co-presenterの項目がありますが、登壇はお一人で行っていただきます。

• 採択にあたっては、スピーカーに欠員が生じた場合の補欠としての採用もあり得ます。

This is the application form for the try! Swift Tokyo talk to be held on March 22-24, 2024. Please read the following information carefully before submitting your application.

January 4, 2024 (Wed.) JST

Eligibility

• try! Swift Tokyo 2024 attendees (must have a ticket and be able to come to the venue on the day of the event).

You do not need to have a ticket at the time of application, but we will contact you to confirm that you have a ticket when your application is accepted.

Format

There are two types of proposals.

General Talk

20 minute presentation

Any topic related to Swift and Swift-based products is acceptable. You can talk about the Swift language specification, future releases, people involved in Swift development, things you have noticed when developing iOS/macOS apps using Swift, technical challenges you have faced when developing OSS, or any other Swift-related topic. Themes of invited speakers will be prioritized.

Invited speakers’ talk topics may be prioritized, so please be imaginative when submitting your application, as you may be more likely to be selected.

Lightning Talk

5 minutes short presentation

Talk about what you are passionate about or what you are working hard on. Of course, you can talk about Swift or app development, but you can also talk about anything you are passionate about as a hobby, even if it has nothing to do with Swift. It is even better if the audience can enjoy listening to your talk even if they do not have any prerequisite knowledge.

We will emphasize that the content should be something that can be talked about in a short period of time (5 minutes).

Language

• English or Japanese
  • Simultaneous Japanese/English interpretation will be provided.

Selection will be made by the organizers of try! Swift Tokyo 2024.

Number of applicants

• Talk: A few (not many)
• Lightning Talk: 5-10 people

Notes

• It is possible for one person to apply for multiple CfPs. You can apply for more than one CfP by yourself.
• “Co-presenter” filed is not available. Only one person is required to give a talk.

• We may select alternate speakers to fill a vacancy on the day of the conference.
