The 6th edition of the Web Rebels conference, happening in Oslo, Norway on the 1st and 2nd of June 2017, is a relaxed single track conference about all things web development and JavaScript. It is a volunteer run non-profit event, and is part of the JSConf family.

CFP Description

Topics

We like to see anything that squarely fits into the spectrum of:

  • Cutting-edge technological advances in the world of JavaScript or computer science in general, if somehow applicable to JavaScript.
  • Wild, crazy and clever stuff and hacks. Mad science!!
  • Improving JavaScript developers’ lives.
  • Mobile JS.
  • Embedded JS.
  • Hardware JS.
  • Web and application security.
  • Fundamentals, in a modern light.
  • Whatever you want! This is your conference.

Please note that we’re a conference for JS and web developers, and talks expecting an audience of graphic designers or UX designers would be out of place.

Guidelines

Submit your proposal by Jan 29th 2017, 23:59:59 CEST.

All talks are in English.

Talks are usually 30 minutes long with a 10 minutes curated Q&A (you will sit down with our MC and have a small conversation with them on stage - no direct questions from the audience). The schedule is tight so we strongly encourage timing your presentation in advance.

Keep your proposal short and direct. Please propose only one talk - multiple proposals will be discarded.

Misc

All talks will be recorded and published on the internet for free under a Creative Commons licence. Please do not submit if this would be a problem for you.

Speaker selection at Web Rebels has traditionally been invite only. This is the first year we are doing a CfP. Not all talks at Web Rebels 2017 will be picked from this CfP. Web Rebels 2017 will be a mix of invited speakers and submitted talks.
