GDG DevFests are large, community-run developer events happening around the globe focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies. This year, the devfest will hold in regions and this region, South West will hold its event in Ibadan with the aim of bringing developers from all around the south west region of Nigeria in one place to experience the best of Google technology. This year’s edition is targeted at introducing new tools and ways of working on software applications of all cadres while having fun. We hope to have in attendance, a mixture of Novice, Intermediate and Advanced developers with sessions to cater for the levels.

CFP Description

This is your opportunity to speak at Devfest SW 2017. On November 18, Google Developer Group South West Nigeria Cluster comprising of GDG Lagos, GDG FUNAAB, GDG OAU, GDG LAUTECH, GDG UNILAG, GDG Covenant University, GDG BELLS University, GDG Unilorin and GDG Osogbo will be holding DevFest 2017 in Ibadan.

Share your Knowledge and Experience

As a community, we are interested in exchanging experiences and knowledge around Google technologies like Web (Progressive Web Apps), Mobile Web, Cloud, Machine Learning, Android, Kotlin, Firebase as well as UI and UX. Share your knowledge, experience and code with other developers so we can all learn together.

Most talks are 30 minutes long, but we do offer a limited number of 45-minute slots for important topics that promise to benefit from a more extensive treatment.

Tips for Submitting

Think carefully about what you want to talk about, and what value the conference attendees will get from attending your talk. Provide a clear description that describes the value, and ensures that the key takeaways are well defined. Get the timing right. 30 to 45 minutes is a long time to keep an audience entertained and informed. Sell us your idea! Your talk doesn’t have to be finished yet, make sure you sell us the idea.
