Bio

I have been in IT since something called ‘the 90’s’ and first got involved in cyber back when ISO27001 was still BS7799. That means I’ve been around a while and seen a few things in the world of cyber. Now I run an MSP called Optimising IT, where we focus on helping the SME space reduce cyber risk in a pragmatic way.

I got interested in cybersecurity because I have a strong dislike for the idea of anyone breaking into someone’s environment and either destroying it or stealing all of their hard-earned stuff.

I live in Exeter with the family, and love being outside. I like engineering, technology and related fields as well as being a big advocate for doing the right thing for people and the planet. I do like terribly punny jokes and have a very eclectic taste in music, everything from Daft Punk to Slipknot.
