Description
Everyone is a consultant, but not everyone knows it yet!
What is a consultant? It is like DevOps - is another term we want to use to encompass more terms that may or may not be relevant to the actual role.
University Engineering Courses have long covered the technical modules in great depth, and even in the long-used context of People, Process and Technology (PPT) Framework - its the People and Processes, not technology what Project Managers and Leadership Roles spend most time on.
And yet, what is the career progression for the engineer? Team Lead? Management? There is an evident skills mismatch - and the industry is awash with examples of great technical people failing to lead an effective team.
In this talk, we will explore the make up for a great consultant. This is a vast and multi-layered topic. This is an expansion on career development with the emphasis on personal growth and specifically the non-technical skills.
