What everyone ought to know about VMware PowerCLI

By Kyle Ruddy

Elevator Pitch

PowerCLI is one of the easiest ways to manage your VMware environments. From vSphere to NSX, VMware has followed the PowerShell guidelines and best practices to enable PowerCLI users to get up and running as fast as possible. This demo driven session is going to show just how easy that can be done!

Description

PowerShell is easy to begin with and, because of how closely VMware has followed the best practices and guidelines, so is VMware PowerCLI. This session will feature two Microsoft MVPs walking attendees through how to tackle real-life tasks in a VMware environment. From setting up your environment all the way through to a VM life-cycle management script, we’ll show how easy it is to do this with PowerCLI.

While this may sound advanced, attendees won’t need any prior PowerCLI knowledge. Plus, since we believe in observational learning, there will be a number of demos as well as a repository to access the code shared during the session.

Notes

This session will not list all 600+ PowerCLI cmdlets! Instead it will demonstrate the ease with which to address administrative tasks in vSphere PowerCLI.
