Containers are about to be the present of Software packaging for the masses, and they already are for some of us. Orchestration is the key to successful container adoption and distribution, and the most important piece of the equation.
This Side Up is dedicated to identify key success and failure patterns when adopting a container strategy thanks to feedback and insight from people running containers in production in companies of various sizes and verticals.
You will understand what you should take into consideration when moving to containers, challenges and how to overcome them, tools and practices that apply for various use cases and many more data driven stories which will help you sail your ship.
The workshop day on the 17th is co-located with the NodeConf workshops, and some talks and experiments are co presented. Among other subjects, we will cover:
- Comparing various types of containers in different use cases
- Building your first Kubernetes or DC/OS cluster
- Managing your applications in a Container PaaS
- Running stateful applications with containers
- Operating bare metal clusters
- Building a PoC of your first application
- Data Pipelines with containers
- And of course answer all your questions about container orchestration

CFP Description
This Side Up is about real life experience of any type, as long as it connects to containers. Our audience is a mix of developers and technical decision makers, who are about or just made a decision to move to containers, and want to go as fast as possible while minimizing their risks. They want to know the real deal and not the marketing side of things, such as

We have 2 types of presentations:
- Day 1 is a conference, and talks are presenting experience only
- Day 2 and 3 are workshops only. Worshops must be interactive, and represent a real life use or business case.
