The Kansas City Developer Conference is excited to announce our 9th annual event! Our 2017 conference will be held August 3–4, with a pre-conference workshop day on August 2. Once again, the event will be held at the Kansas City Convention Center in downtown Kansas City. Each year, we draw a large audience of new and experienced Developers, PMs, and Technology Managers from Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and the Dakotas.
The conference is a two-day, multi-track event covering all aspects of software development, design, and project management. We welcome speakers from all over the world who are industry experts that deliver breakout sessions and hands-on workshops to further our attendees’ knowledge and professional skills.
The day before the main conference, on August 2, we host our “Precompiler” day. The precompilers are full- and half-day, hands-on workshops providing in-depth coverage of a specific subject. This day is offered to attendees at an additional cost to their main conference admission.
CFP Description
The KCDC 2017 call for abstracts is officially open!
If you have great ideas and great talks that you want to share, we want to hear from you! KCDC looks to offer sessions across the entire spectrum of software and developer-related topics. Whatever your passion, if it relates to technology professionals, then we may have a spot for you at the conference.
GUIDELINES
To maximize the likelihood of your selection to present at KCDC 2017, please keep the following information in mind:
-
Most speakers will be asked to present two talks, so if you only submit a single abstract, your chances of being selected will be slim.
-
While not a hard-and-fast rule, we look for speakers with a passion for their topics. To that end, we encourage you to be more specialists than generalists in your submissions.
-
Be sure to provide a couple (but not too many) appropriate tags covering the topics relevant to your submissions. These tags will be shared with conference attendees, and will help them to decide which talks to come see.
BENEFITS
Presenters at KCDC 2017 can look forward to the following benefits:
-
Conference Pass: All accepted speakers will receive a complimentary pass to KCDC 2017, including for the August 2 precompiler workshop day. The pass is not transferable to any other attendee.
-
Lodging: KCDC will pay for two nights at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott Hotel, which is adjacent to the conference center hosting the event. Speakers presenting a half- or full-day workshop will receive a third night at the hotel.
-
Speaker Dinner: All speakers are invited and encouraged to attend a VIP dinner at the Kill Devil Club in the KC Power & Light District on the evening of August 2, 2017, at 7pm. This special event offers a great opportunity to network and visit with your peers from around the country and around the globe. Don’t miss it!
