CFP Description

Call for Proposals — PyCon Indonesia 2025

About PyCon Indonesia

PyCon Indonesia is the annual gathering for Python enthusiasts across the country and beyond — a place where developers, data scientists, educators, hobbyists, and newcomers come together to learn, share, and connect. Whether you’re writing your first line of Python or building complex systems with it, PyCon ID is where ideas flourish and friendships form.

We believe that conferences are more than just talks — they’re about people. That’s why our 2025 theme is:

from people import pycon

This year, PyCon ID 2025 will be held in Jakarta on 6–7 December 2025, and we’re excited to invite you to be a part of it — as a speaker!

Our organizing team is made up of professionals, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, and students from across Indonesia, reflecting the rich diversity of our community. Whether you’re local or international, experienced or new to speaking, we’re working hard to create a warm and inclusive conference where everyone can have a great time and grow together.

Speak at PyCon ID 2025

We’re now accepting Call for Proposals (CFP) — and we want to hear from you!

We welcome talks from all experience levels — beginner, intermediate, or advanced — and across all areas of Python: development, data, web, DevOps, hardware, education, community, and beyond. Your talk can be a technical deep dive, a tutorial, a case study, or a story about how Python empowered you or your team. If it’s interesting to you, chances are it will be valuable to others too.

You don’t need to be a seasoned speaker — we value authentic stories and useful insights over polished slides. First-time speakers are especially encouraged to submit!

How to Submit a Proposal

Your proposal should include the following:

  • Title of your talk
  • Elevator Pitch (1–2 sentences to summarize your talk)
  • Audience Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • Full Description of your talk
  • About You (Short bio)

You may submit more than one proposal if you have multiple ideas.

We accept talks in Bahasa Indonesia or English — this is PyCon Indonesia, after all!

Talk Formats

We offer two types of sessions:

1. Regular Talk (30 minutes)

A 30-minute session including Q&A. Great for in-depth topics, tutorials, or demos. Supporting materials like slides or visuals are highly encouraged.

2. Short Talk (15 minutes)

A compact session for focused topics, useful insights, or first-time speakers. Perfect if you have something valuable to share but want to keep it concise.

What Makes a Great Proposal?

When evaluating submissions, our reviewers will look for:

  • Practicality
Does your talk show how Python solves real-world problems? Does it offer clear takeaways for the audience?

  • Originality & Insight
Does it provide a unique perspective, hands-on experience, or hard-to-find knowledge?

  • Relevance
One or more of the following:
    • Prepares attendees for current or future trends
    • Lowers the barrier for Python beginners
    • Adds value to ongoing conversations in the Python ecosystem
  • Feasibility
Can your topic be effectively delivered within 15 or 30 minutes?

  • Clarity
Is your proposal well-structured and easy to understand? Does it clearly explain what the audience will learn?

While we focus on Python-related topics, we also welcome broader technical or community-focused talks as long as they benefit the Python community.
