There are many conferences for computer developers in the Mid-Atlantic region, but most of them are highly focused. Javascript, PHP, Ruby, Security, and iOS development to name a few. But few programmers only work in one technology these days, and what happens if your current language or platform is not in the above list?

We decided to fix that by creating a larger scope conference that includes everyone. This polyglot conference will be designed to appeal to all developers from the region and will cover the topics that you want to hear.

Mid-Atlantic Developers Conference is being designed as a 2-day long, Friday/Saturday event, on July 13-14, based on feedback that we received from surveying developers of the region. This year (2018) will be the first year of the event, but we plan to continue hosting the event as an annual conference, with plans to grow into the premiere large developer event of the region.

This year the event will be taking place at the Maritime Conference Center, located just a couple miles from BWI Airport.

CFP Description

For Mid-Atlantic Developers Conference we are looking for a broad range of submissions covering a wide range of topics that are of interest to today’s computer developers. Examples include:

  • Programming in common languages: JavaScript, Python, PHP, Ruby, Java, Go, Swift, ASP, Haskell, C#, etc
  • Topics related to development: deployment, DevOps, databases, caching, performance, scalability, APIs, etc
  • Non-technical proposals appealing to a tech audience: open source, leadership, mentoring, health, work-life balance, management, customer service, and more!

Given the nature of the event, extra emphasis will be placed on submissions that appeal to a larger range of developers, such as those that cross language barriers. While workshop submissions are allowed, based upon final scheduling concerns, we may choose to not include any workshops in the event this year.
