> "The future is serverless" - Simon Wardley
> "Serverless is going to kill all computing architectures" - Kelsey Hightower
Serverless is a recent addition to the long list of technologies that promise to accelerate software delivery, reduce cost of compute ownership and provide unicorns and rainbows for all. And like all industry buzzwords it generates enthusiasm and scepticism in equal measure – how to move beyond the hype?
ServerlessDays started life as JeffConf, a tongue in cheek conference in the spirit of Paul Johnston’s [blog post](https://serverless.zone/serverless-is-just-a-name-we-could-have-called-it-jeff-1958dd4c63d7), an attempt to move beyond the Serverless buzzword and focus on the practical use of function as a service platforms and the value they provide. It is a one day, community focused, single track event centred on real world Serverless based solutions. It’s about fostering a community and helping all of us learn from each other as we embrace a new way of building applications.
For the first time ever, ServerlessDays is coming to Wales and to the stunning Tramshed venue in Cardiff, once the old tram depot for west Cardiff. It offers a stunning music and arts venue, and is home to the creative and tech industries.

I'm Attending!February 07, 2019February 09, 2019Rubyfuza & friends 2019UTCThe 2019 Rubyfuza & friends conference will be held on February 7 & 8 in Cape Town, South Africa. Started in 2011, Rubyfuza is still the premier Ruby language conference in Africa and has been attracting top local and international Ruby developers for eight years now. Rubyfuza does not only focus on experienced programmers, but also on educating and training new, young programmers, with RailsBridge and Coderetreat being amongst the events we’ve brought to South Africa for the first time. Rubyfuza is a great place to network with passionate software engineers, recruit top talent, and learn new and exciting techniques and technologies.
Rubyfuza has a history of attracting great international keynote speakers. In 2018 we traveled to space with Nate Berkopec. In 2017 we had Coraline Ada Ehmke, in 2016 Sarah Mei, in 2015 Charles Nutter and Aaron Patterson, all recipients of Ruby Hero awards. Rubyfuza is extremely proud to be the first conference where many speakers started their journey on stage. We encourage and welcome first time speakers to present to our warm and welcoming audience.
The event comprises of two days of single-track presentations (7 & 8 Feb) and an additional workshop day (9 Feb). The organisers of Rubyfuza & friends 2019 are encouraging the submission of proposals for 25 minute presentations OR workshops related to Ruby development. Sessions may be geared toward non-expert audiences or focus on topics relevant to experienced developers.Cape Town, South Africa
