I'm Attending!July 06, 2018July 06, 2018ServerlessDays LondonUTC#ServerlessDays London 2018
Serverless is a recent addition to the long list of technologies that promise to accelerate software delivery, reduce cost of compute ownership and provide unicorns and rainbows for all. And like all industry buzzwords it generates enthusiasm and scepticism in equal measure – how to move beyond the hype?
ServerlessDays started life as JeffConf, a tongue in cheek conference in the spirit of Paul Johnston’s [blog post](https://serverless.zone/serverless-is-just-a-name-we-could-have-called-it-jeff-1958dd4c63d7), *“Serverless is just a name. We could have called it Jeff”*, an attempt to move beyond the Serverless buzzword and focus on the practical use of function as a service platforms and the value they provide. It is a one day, community focused, single track event centred on real world Serverless based solutions. It’s about fostering a community and helping all of us learn from each other as we embrace a new way of building applications.
ServerlessDays London is the evolution of the three JeffConf’s before (London, Milan and Hamburg). We look to build on the success of the previous events, and learn from where we could do better. Our focus is on building a community through sharing of experiences, accessible without a large commitment of time or money (tickets start from just £35).
The venue is a 197 year old church in the heart of Hoxton, near the Old Street roundabout, the beating heart of London’s tech scene. We’re expecting 300 people this year. We will be running an extensive scholarship program for underrepresented minorities in tech, have a code of conduct that is enforced and can guarantee toilet queues for everyone.London
I'm Attending!October 13, 2018October 13, 2018Dev Fest WeekendUTC# What this conference is about
There were are group of local MVP's talking after a local user group meeting. After an engaging conversation on conferences, we came to the following conclusion.
Although we have many great conferences and great sessions with in our reach, we haven't seen enough of the kind of presentations that excite us. So instead of just talking about the problem, we decided to do something about it.
This is a grass-root initiative.
